Edgar S. Foreman, 78, of Sioux City died Tuesday, Sept. 22, 1998, at a Sioux City hospital following a brief illness.

There will be no services or visitation. The body was cremated. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Mr. Foreman was born March 29,1920, in Creston, British Columbia, Canada, the son of Sydney and Doris (Cuming) Foreman. He served in the U.S. Army for three years during World War II.

He married Patricia M. Scully on Feb. 21, 1948, in Reno, Nev. He had lived in the Oakland, Calif. area for 28 years, and in Sioux City for 50 years. He was employed as a salesman with H.J. Kinney Co., retiring in 1983.

He was a member of American Legion and enjoyed the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Survivors include his wife; a son and his wife, Tim and Mary of Sioux City; two daughters, Connie and her husband, Steve Saunders, and Joan Foreman, all of Sioux City; a brother and his wife, George and Helen of California; a sister and her husband, Joan and Ron Eves of California; and four grandchildren, Michael, Erica, Daniel and Elizabeth.

He was preceded in death by a son, Michael and two sisters, Sylvia McGraw and Lee Lisher.

Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Siouxland.
