Billy E. Foulk, 83, of Dakota City, died Saturday June 17, 2000, at a Sioux City hospital following a brief illness.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. today at Morningside Lutheran Church with the Rev. Donohue Sarff and the Rev. Kevin Lee officiating. The body was cremated and a private family burial will be at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation was held at the Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Mr. Foulk was born Feb. 22, 1917, in Sioux City, the son of Nathaniel "N.C." and Maude Foulk. He grew up in Sioux City and graduated from Central High School. He married Ann J. Sandvold on Aug. 31, 1940, in Sioux City. He worked for his father at N.C. Foulk Plumbing. He later owned and operated with his brother, Bob Foulk Brothers Plumbing for many years. He was a member Of the Homebuilders Association.

He was a member of Morningside Lutheran Church and a member of the American Legion Monahan Post 64, North Riverside Lodge 662 A.F. & A .M., Abu Bekr foot patrol and was a charter member of the Missouri River Boat Club. He served with the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theater during World War II.

He enjoyed boating and woodworking.

Survivors include his wife; a son and his wife, Bob and Sue of Sioux City; daughter and her husband, Marty and Perry Hubbs of New Port Richey, Fl.; a sister and her husband, Dixie and Ken Hart of Cedar Falls, Iowa; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Vivian O'Neill and Evelyn Thorpe; and a brother, Bob Foulk.

Pallbearers will he Bill Hossack, Tommie Schroeder, Walter Haltli, Bill Zemanek, Duane Cory, Larry Book, Steve Nelson, Tim Luse, Lonny Book and Mike Redmond.

Memorials may be sent to Morningside Lutheran Church or to the Abu Bar Transportation Fund.
