11 June 2013SIOUX CITY | Neal W. Parr, 76, of Sioux City passed away Thursday, June 6, 2013, at his residence.
Abiding by family wishes, cremation has taken place. Private graveside services will be Saturday in St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery in South Sioux City. Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel.
Neal was born on Dec. 27, 1936, in South Sioux City, to William and Chloe Parr. He received his education at South Sioux City Schools, graduating with the class of 1954. Neal served his country in the U.S. Navy.
He married Judy Burns on May 31, 1958 in Elk Point, S.D. To this union, four children were born. Neal always lived in the Siouxland area, working at Sioux Tools as a machinist and continued at Concrete Pipe.
He enjoyed hunting, mastering the computer, and keeping in contact with his many friends via the Ham Radio. Neal was an extremely devoted husband, and found his best friend when he found his wife, Judy.
Neal is survived by his children, Laurie Lukken and her husband John of Omaha, Jeff Parr of Sioux City, Rich Parr and his wife Terry of South Dakota, and Jamie Schubert and her husband Keith of Hinton, Iowa; sister, Annette Artz of South Sioux City; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Neal was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Judy on June 28, 2012; and one brother.
