Francis C. "Fran" Vanderham 1935 - 2009

SIOUX CITY -- Francis C. "Fran" Vanderham, 74, of Monroe, Wash., formerly of Sioux City, passed away Nov. 14, 2009, in Washington.

Fran was born March 13, 1935, in Akron, Iowa, the son of Roy and Marcella Vanderham. He lived in Sioux City until 1953, when he joined the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a Korean War veteran. In 1979, he moved to Washington state to be with his children and former wife. He was a truck driver most of his life.

He was loved by his family and friends. He loved to golf with his brother and friends. He enjoyed visiting and traveling.

He is survived by his brother, James Vanderham of Sioux City; a sister, Mary McCleery of Las Vegas, Nev.; two daughters and a son-in-law, Doni and Jeff Babcock of Monroe, Wash., and Mona Maiso of Everett, Wash.; his former wife, Donna Ludwig of Monroe; three grandchildren, Jamie, Jessica and Daniel; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and three grandcats, Ashly, Jasmine and Sheba.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother and his wife, Eugene and Marion Vanderham; a sister and her husband, Sally and Charles Mote; a brother, Bill Vanderham; and a brother-in-law, Buss McCleery.

He will be missed.
