SIOUX CITY -- Sheila Binnebose, 60, of Sioux City passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009.

Abiding by family wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Calvary Lutheran Church, with the Rev. James Travis officiating. Private family graveside service will be on Monday at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church. Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.

Sheila was born on April 10, 1949, in Sioux City, to Carl and Ilo (Northwick) Binnebose. She attended school at Leeds High School, before entering the work force as a bookkeeper for Woolco and more recently for Aramark in Sioux City.

Sheila was an avid animal lover, especially cats, and also enjoyed cross-stitching, crocheting and knitting. She was a proud member of Calvary Lutheran Church and a proud supporter of Iowa Hawkeyes football.

Sheila is survived by her sister, Mardee Carlberg and her husband, Leo of Sioux City; brother, Marlin Binnebose and his wife, Ruth of Fremont, Neb.; nieces, Teresa Emge of Sioux City, Sherrie Cole and her husband, Chris of Sioux City, Renae Norenberg and her husband, Fred of Fremont, Neb., Shelly Binnebose of Omaha and Katherine Griffen and her husband, Heath of Fremont; nephews, Leo Carlberg and his wife, Donna of Sioux City and Kenny Winn and his wife, Sara of Ashland, Neb.; 15 grandnieces and grandnephews; numerous cousins; and her very special feline roommate, Jesse.

Sheila was preceded in death by her parents; and stepfather, Herman Binnebose.

Memorials can be made to Calvary Lutheran Church or to the Siouxland Humane Society.
