CORRECTIONVILLE, Iowa -- Tom E. Roark, 60, of Correctionville died Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009, at an Omaha hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Grace Lutheran Church in Correctionville, with the Rev. Andrew Carlson officiating. Private burial will be at a later date in Oak Hill Cemetery at Anthon, Iowa. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today, with the family present from 6 to 7 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., all at the Armstrong Funeral Home in Anthon.

Thomas Edward Roark was born Feb. 21, 1949, in Sioux City, to Raymond and Patricia (Murphy) Roark. He was a graduate of Eastwood High School in 1967. He was a Vietnam veteran, having earned a Purple Heart and was a member of the American Legion at Cushing, Iowa. Tom worked at Western Iowa Co-op for years.

He married Bonnie Boock April 23, 1999, at Grace Lutheran Church in Correctionville.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie; a son, Dennis (Nicole) Roark of Colorado Springs, Colo.; daughters, Rene (Jaret) Byers of Correctionville and Rochelle (Steve) Kenworthy of Independence, Mo.; six grandchildren; his mother, Pat Roark of Anthon, Iowa; a sister, Susan (Mike) Davis of Henderson, Nev.; one niece; and two nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond.
