Harold C. Karras, 80, of Kansas City, Kan., formerly of Sioux City, died Friday, July 21, 2006, in Kansas City.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Valerie Heller, pastor of Rustin Avenue United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.

Harold was born March 4, 1926, in Sioux City, the son of Chris and Edna Mae (White) Karras. He grew up in Sioux City. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was wounded in Germany and received the Purple Heart and European Service Medal. He moved to Kansas City in 1956.

He married Amarylis Mae Triggs on Sept. 27, 1946. She died in June 1947. He married Olive Francis Kuklentz in 1952. She died Dec. 7, 1973.

He worked at Stowe Hardware Co. in Kansas City, Mo., for 34 years until he retired.

He was a member of Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion in Kansas City.

Survivors include a brother, Howard Karras of Sioux City; a sister, Annabelle Wright and her husband, James, of Sioux City; a nephew, Howie Karras Jr. of Sioux City; three nieces, EdnaMae Yarte, Patricia Hodgins and her husband, Tim, and Anna Marie Karras, all of Sioux City; several great-nieces and nephews, all of Sioux City; a great-great-niece; and a special friend, Regina Seuferling of Kansas City, Kan.

He was preceded in death by both wives; his parents; and a sister-in-law, Clara Karras.

Pallbearers will be Jim Wright, Tim Hodgins, Kristopher Yarte and Shea Cox.
