Frank Burton "Burt" Huston, 95, of Sioux City passed away Monday, July 24, 2006, at his residence.

Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Kathy Olson officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with military rites conducted by American Legion Monahan Post 64. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.

Frank Burton "Burt" Huston was born Aug. 21, 1910, in Waukee, Iowa, the son of Frank E. and Mae (Nish) Huston. He graduated from Waukee High School in 1928 and Iowa State University majoring in dairy industry in 1933.

Burt married Lorraine Daugherty on May 21, 1942, in Sioux City.

He served in the Armed Forces from June 1942 until November 1945 at Fort Knox, Ky., and the European Theater of Operation during World War II.

Burt was employed at Roberts Dairy in Sioux City from 1933 until he retired in 1975. He then worked part time at Olson Sporting Goods for several years.

During his life, he was a manager for Midget Football, Little League Baseball and Junior Legion Baseball. He was president of the Sioux City Bowling Association in 1967-1968. Burt was a lifetime member of Iowa Beta Fraternity, Sigma Phi Epsilon. He was a member of Monahan Post American Legion Post 64 and Wesley United Methodist Church. He was a former member of Triangle Lodge AM and FM 643 and Azure Chapter OES.

Burt enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing, gardening, working in his workshop and watching all sports. He particularly loved being with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Lorraine; a son, Frank Huston and his wife, Janey, of Ottumwa, Iowa; a daughter, Nancy Hinrich and her husband, Jim, of Sioux City; four grandchildren, Kerry Huston and his wife, Lori, Kris Gipson, Jill Hinrich Royer and her husband, Jason, and Kirk Hinrich.
