Anthon, Iowa—Louise M. Petersen, 88, of Anthon died Monday, August 23, 1999, at Countryside Retirement Home in Sioux City.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Anthon, with the Rev. Michael Harman officiating. Burial will be Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Armstrong Funeral Home in Anthon.

Mrs. Petersen was born August 11, 1911, near Moville, Iowa, the daughter of Frederick Dedrick and Anna Marie (Pries) Scheelhaase. She moved with her family to a farm in the Anthon area.

She married William August “Bill” Petersen on December 31, 1929. The couple farmed in the Anthon area until retiring. He died Sept. 25, 1974.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Survivors include three daughters and their husbands, Waneta Ann and H.F. “Tex” Davis of Coffeyville, Kan., Jane Arlene and Michael “Mike” Fujinami of Murray, Utah and Julie Allyn and Robert “Bob” Sperling of Salt Lake City, Utah; two granddaughters, Elayne Marie Marshall and Rachelle Christine Fujinami; a sister, Lucille Kenney of Rogers, Ark.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Sophia Petersen; and an infant brother, Frederick.
