SIOUX CITY | Catherine Elizabeth Lafferty, 5-month-old infant daughter of Miranda Vint and Kevin Lafferty of Sioux City, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday Jan. 9, 2013, at her residence.

Services will be 7 p.m. Monday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with Chaplain Brenda Husman officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Catherine was born July 31, 2012, in Sioux City; she was the daughter of Miranda Vint and Kevin Lafferty.

Catherine loved snuggling with her mommy and watching Sunday football with her daddy. She had just started rolling over, and was such a happy baby. Her smile could light up an entire room. In addition to her immediate family, Catherine will be greatly missed by all of her friends at Helping Hands Daycare, the place she loved to go while mommy was at work.

Catherine wasn’t on this earth long, but while she was here she touched the life of so many people. Her bright little smile is now a bright little star in the sky.

Survivors include her parents; maternal grandparents, Jim and Sandy Vint of Sioux City; paternal grandparents, Larry Lafferty of Omaha, and Kathleen Lafferty of Sioux City; maternal great-grandfather, Jack Combs of Westfield, Iowa; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.
