Milton H. Cours, 86, of Sioux City died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002, at Holy Spirit Retirement Home following a lengthy illness.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Graceland Park Cemetery, with the Rev. David Morris, pastor of Wesley United Methodist Church, officiating. There will be no visitation. Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel is handling arrangements.

Milton Cours was born Jan. 30, 1916, in Sioux City, the son of Henry and Maude (Deuel) Cours. He graduated from Central High School and went to business school for one year.

He married Leta R. Monlux on June 9, 1948, in Worthington, Minn. She died in June 1983 in Rockport, Texas. Milton served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was stationed in the Philippines and Japan. He was in the Army Reserve Postal Unit until 1951. He worked for the U.S. Post Office for 32 years, retiring in 1970 as a postal supervisor from the Morningside Post Office. After retiring, he traveled with an Air Stream trailer and settled in Florida, where his pastimes were fishing and golf. He returned to Sioux City three years ago.

He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and he enjoyed Bible studies. He was active in the Ham Radio Club.

Survivors include two daughters, Carol Ann Gehl of Sioux City, and Cheryl Joslin and her husband, Larry of Sioux City; two sons, Miehael Monlux and his wife, Connie of South Sioux City, and Richard Monlux and his wife, Elaine of Pasco, Wash.; a brother, Richard Cours and his wife, Vickie of Tampa, Fla.; nine grandchildren, Eugene and Joseph Gehl, Rich Monlux, Chris Joslin and his fiancee, Mary Beyerink, Derek Joslin, Aaron Joslin, Misty Monlux, Shane Monlux and Jason Cours.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Leta, he was preceded in death by two sons, Rocky and
Terry; a grandson, Robbie; and a great-granddaughter, Katie.
