Arnold B. Connelly, 73, of Sioux City died unexpectedly Sunday, Feb. 16, 1997, at his residence.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, with the Rev. Marvin Boes officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today, with the family present from 6 to 9 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel.

Mr. Connelly wag born Aug. 10, 1923, in Sioux City, the son of Patrick and Alma (Forsling) Connelly. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He marred Betty Reissen on June 11, 1950, in Sioux City. She died March 11, 1994, in Sioux City.

He was employed as a sign painter with Avery Brothers for 25 years, retiring in 1986.
He was actively involved in the Westside Little League and was a Goodfellow volunteer and a stock car driver during the days of the Riverside Race Track.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Calvin and Kelly of Sioux City; a daughter, Donna Connelly of Sioux City; three grandchildren, Cayla, Kylie and Shawna Connelly; and two sisters, Fern Daniels of Sioux City and Vivian and her husband, Kenneth Frost, of Lyons, Neb.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Wallace and Lawrence.

A memorial has been established in his name.
