SIOUX CITY -- Marion G. Reis, 81, of Bartlesville, Okla., formerly of Sioux City, passed away Oct. 11, 2011 in Bartlesville.

Cremation services were handled by the Stumpff Funeral Home and Crematory in Bartlesville. Private family services will be held at a later date.

Mr. Reis was born Aug. 2, 1930, in Des Moines, the son of Ernest and Marie (Ruble) Reis. He graduated from Glenwood (Iowa) High School and the University of Nebraska College of Pharmacy. He served in the U.S. Army Medical Service Corps, with duty in Korea.

He married Joan R. Larsen on Aug. 9, 1953, in Lincoln, Neb. As a registered pharmacist, he practiced pharmacy in Lincoln, Racine, Wis., and Sioux City, subsequently owning Lloyd and Myers Plaza Pharmacy and D-R Pharmacy Services in Sioux City.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Sioux City and Glenwood, Iowa, Masonic Lodge, Abu-Bekr Shrine in Sioux City, Bartlesville Daybreak Rotary, Siouxland Pharmacy Association and Iowa Pharmacists Association. He was a past honorary president of the Iowa Pharmacists Association. He participated in several medical missions to Guatemala with HELPS International.

Mr. Reis is survived by his wife, Joan; two sons and their wives, Robert Scott and Patrizia of Rome, Italy, and Charles and Carmen of Bartlesville; and two granddaughters, Elisabeth and Carol.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Robert Reis.
