4 February 2013SIOUX CITY | M. Elaine Peterson, 94, of Sioux City, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at a Sioux City care facility.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Concordia Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Henry Witte officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, with family present 6 to 7 p.m., at Waterbury Funeral Service in Sergeant Bluff. Online condolences may be sent at www.waterburyfuneralserviceinc.com.
Elaine was born March 17, 1918, in Sioux City, the daughter of Oscar and Oma (Jones) Peterson.
Elaine married Wayne M. Peterson on Aug. 14, 1943, at Augustana Lutheran Church in Sioux City.
Elaine worked as a bookkeeper for many years at Younkers, and later with Jones Distributing Company. She retired in 1983.
Survivors include her children, Ron Peterson, of Sioux City, Mary (Don) Crum, of Sioux City, and Douglas (Barb) Peterson, of Council Bluffs, Iowa; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wayne, in 1983; and a son, Ronald D. Peterson.
