SIOUX CITY | Katherine A. "Kathy" Stroman-Kelly, 55, of Sioux City passed away Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at her residence.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Tess Panamarow officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Kathy was born on Aug. 20, 1957, to Alma June (Tharnish) Webster. Kathy graduated from North High School. She worked for four years for Weller's Plastics and 21-plus years as a sales associate and department manager for Wal-Mart in South Sioux City. She retired in December 2012.

She was married to John A Stroman on April 23, 1976, in Sioux City. They were married for 25 years. She was later married to Rick Kelly on Feb. 14, 2007, until the marriage ended in separation.

Kathy was a very dedicated individual, always giving of her time and help. She spent countless hours volunteering at the Salvation Army, Angel Tree, cancer walks, Relay for Life, Children's Miracle Network, multi-community functions, and anyone or anything that needed a helping hand. Besides Kathy's big heart, she had a bigger dedication to her family, especially her grandchildren with whom she enjoyed spending time gardening. She loved spending time with her family camping, fishing, rummaging, and clearance shopping.

She is survived by her soul mate, John Stroman of Sioux City; two sons, Mark (Kindra) Stroman of Sioux City, and Bryce (Amber) Stroman of Onawa, Iowa; two daughters, Beth (Bruce) Elgert of Sioux City, and Leona (Dana) Smith of Le Mars, Iowa; six grandchildren, Michael and Matthew Smith, Dylan, Shelby, Lilliana, and Zoey Stroman; a great-grandchild, Baby Peanut Smith; two sisters, Cynthia Hand (significant other, Bob Cory) of Sioux City, and Karen Tweedy of Salix, Iowa; and a brother, Edward Webster of Omaha.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandmother, Leona Keating; aunt, Marcelline Tharnish; and a child Baby Stroman.
