Erma Harriett Tevis,68, Hornick. Iowa. died suddenly Monday, December 4, 1978.

Erma was born October 19, 1910 at Hornick to George F. and Margaret Adams Burns. On October 31, 1942, she married Gordan Tevis at Hornick Iowa. She was a lifelong resident of Hornick and was a member of the Hornick United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, and the Woodbury County Genealogy Association.

She is survived by her husband Gordan, Hornick; 2 sons, Dennis, Solon, Iowa: and Bruce, Hornick, Iowa: 2 daughters, Cheryl, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Mrs. Ray ( Anita ) Biggerstaff, Sioux City; 1 brother, G.V (Jim) Burns, Hornick; 1 sister, Mrs. Ward R. (Veo) Arnold, Champaign, Illinois and 4 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother and 1 sister.

Services were held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday December 6, 1978 at the United Methodist Church at Hornick, Iowa with Rev. Dale Church officiating. The organist, Mrs. Edwin Helming, accompanied the Men's Quartet, Dean Unkel, Jack Steinhoff, Gerald Beckstrom and George Till, who sang the selections, "Beyond The Sunset" and "Just A Closer Walk With Thee".

Bearers were Ed Arvesen, Ralph Burns, Randy Burns, Glenn Edgington, Roger Sulsberger, and M.V. Shafenberg.

Interment was in Graceland Park Cemetery at Sioux City, Iowa with arrangements by the Wood Funeral Home of Whiting, Iowa.
