Mrs. Marjorie Dorcas Tankersley, Salix, Iowa, passed away at a Sioux City, Iowa hospital on November 20, 1979. She had reached the age of 64 years 5 months and 18 days.

She was born at Minnesota Lake, Minnesota, on June 2, 1915, to Edward and Ethel Stevens Goerndt. She married William Tankersley on September 14, 1964 at Little Falls, Minnesota. The couple lived in South Dakota prior to moving to Snyder's Bend near Salix, where they resided for three years, moving then to Mondamin, Iowa, in 1972. They returned to Salix in 1974. Mr. Tankersley died on December 15, 1977.

Marjorie was a member of the Tyndall, South Dakota Lutheran Church and attended the Salix Community Methodist Church.

Survivors are three sisters, Mrs. Evelyne Hanson and Mrs. Madalyne Gigear, both of San Diego, California, and Mrs. Robert (Gladys) Seiner of Avon, South Dakota. There are 18 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husbatid.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 23, 1979 at the Community Methodist Church, Salix, Iowa with Rev. Greg Hackett officiating. The organist was Mrs. Glenn. Miltenberger and the soloist David Burnett, sang "How Great Thou Art" and "The Old Rugged Cross."

Casket bearers were Richard Kranz, David Eggers, John Crain, Roger Huot, Larry VanAuken, and Jeff Berndt.

Interment was in the Rosehill Cemetery, Scotland, South Dakota with graveside services at 3:00 p.m. Friday November 23, 1979 with Rev. Greg Hackett officiating. Arrangements were by the Wood Funeral Home, Whiting Iowa.
