Anita R. Trewin was born February 2, 1910 at Rosaria, Brazil in South America and was the
daughter of John LaFrance and Frieda Koster. She passed away September 8 at Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa.

She moved to Sloan as a very young girl and attended the rural Sloan schools. She married Ray
R. Trewin in 1945 at Alpha, Iowa and he preceded, her in death in 1958.

She had been an employee of the Iowa School for the Deaf in Council Bluffs for the past 10 years. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Council Bluffs.

Survivors include her mother, Mrs. Frieda Beringer of Sloan; and a sister, Mrs. George (Thelma) Sheary also of Sloan.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 6 at, the Christian Church of Sloan with Rev. James E. Larson officiating. Music was provided by Lois Pope and Betty Anderson who sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere." They were accompanied by Bonnie Ray.

Casket bearers were Harold Dean, Carl Dahl, Louis Watson,, Jim Goodwin, Edwin Miller and
William Burkhart. Interment was at the Sloan Cemetery with arrangements by Wood Funeral Home of Sloan.
