SIOUX CITY | Charlotte Jean “Grandma Charlie” Schneider, 85, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at a Sioux City hospital.

Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Friday at Becker-Hunt Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jeffrey Ungs officiating. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Grandma Charlie was born Feb. 27, 1927, in Emerson, Neb., the daughter of Paul G. and Cora L. (Demers) Fuchser. She graduated from high school and attended one year of business college. She married John L. Schneider.

She was employed as bookkeeper for Petit Construction and retired from the Red Raven Restaurant to take care of her mother. She was a Lutheran.

Grandma Charlie loved making crafts to give as gifts and taking them to the county and state fairs, where she received prizes and many ribbons. She enjoyed bowling and playing pool.

Survivors include two daughters, Bari Ehlers and her special friend, Denny Mayo, and Roxi Croy, all of Sioux City; three grandchildren, Jonni Wahle and her special friend, Kristina Wright, Jessica McNeil and her special friend, Liz Sanchez, and Caley Croy and her companion, Nick Andrews; adopted granddaughter, Danielle Gallup; the canine grandkids, Molly and Harley; all those who loved and called her Grandma Charlie; and a close family friend, Harold Funk.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Cora Petit; her father and stepmother, Paul G. and Nyna Fuchser; and a brother, Paul J. Fuchser.

She was deeply loved by all her family and will be truly missed.
