SIOUX CITY -- Tyler Lee Ring, 58, of Sioux City passed away Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Glad Tidings Lighthouse in South Sioux City. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Walthill, Neb. Following the service at the cemetery there will be a lunch and time of fellowship at the church. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Becker-Hunt Funeral Home.

Tyler was born April 13, 1953, in Pender, Neb., the son of Stanley and Lucille M. (Mitchell) Ring. He graduated from high school and attended two years of college.

He married Mary Catherine Bigler on June 5, 1990, in Elk Point, S.D. He had to retire due to poor health in 2002.

He was a member of Glad Tidings Lighthouse. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved visiting with his grandson, Cohen Lee Risner.

Survivors include his wife, Mary; a daughter, Lucille LaRae Ring and her fiance, Corey Risner of Sioux City; a son, Richard Shawn Kuyton of Alvin, Texas; his parents, Stanley and Lucille Ring of South Sioux City; a brother, the Rev. Michael and his wife, Linda Ring of Sioux City; a sister, Glenda Sue and her husband, Ron Haase of Dakota City; and his grandson, Cohen Lee Risner.

He was preceded in death by a son, Tyler McKinley Ring.

Pallbearers will be his nephews.
