14 December 2011SIOUX CITY -- Kathy Jean Babb, 54, of Sioux City passed away Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011, at a local hospital.
Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Saturday at Waterbury Funeral Service in Sergeant Bluff. Per her wishes, her body was cremated. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home.
Kathy Jean Babb was born Oct. 23, 1957, in Des Moines, the daughter of Reginald and Beverly (Moore) Babb. Kathy lived for her three grandchildren, although she had suffered with Rheumatoid Arthritis, which for the past nine to 10 years caused her to be bedridden and being blind for the past three years.
She loved to talk on the phone with her family and friends and listen to the television, which her favorite was Bounty Hunter (the Dog) whom she talked to on the phone one time. Her spirits were always great even with all of the pain she suffered. She was an inspiration to the family. Kathy loved children, and she baby-sat for many years prior to her illness.
She is survived by her loving companion and ex-husband, Randy Harmon of Sioux City; her mother, Beverly Babb of Sioux City; her father, Reginald Babb of Norfolk, Neb.; a daughter, Hope (Robert) Sandison of Sioux City; her three grandchildren, Faith, Alexis, and Christian; her extended family son, Alex (Anasara) Henry and their daughter, Juliette; two brothers, Kevin (Kate) Babb and Todd Babb, both of Sioux City; her three sisters, Teresa Krisl of North Sioux City, Kim (Bill) Nielsen of Sioux City, and Terri Calvillo of Denver, Colo.; her nieces, Jennifer and Christina; her nephews, Josh, Levi, Troy, Jeremy, Thad, Chad, Brandon and Nathan; along with a host of other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents; four great-aunts; one great-uncle; and an aunt.
