SIOUX CITY | Dale Maji, 51, of Sioux City passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013.

Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at Morningside Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Tom LoVan officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service.

Dale was born on Dec. 21, 1961, in Omaha, and grew up in that area. He later moved to Sioux City.

He was a member of Morningside Lutheran Church. He publicly declared his faith and was baptized on June 20, 2010, at the outdoor worship service at the Anderson Dance Pavilion. He received his general education diploma through Western Iowa Tech Community College in a ceremony at the Orpheum Theater on Dec. 20, 2011.

Dale enjoyed spending time with his friends, playing pool, watching movies, and making crafts for others. He was always willing to help others and was appreciative of any small kindness that other people did for him. He will be missed.

Survivors include his mother, Eleanor Maji; his sister, Peggy (William) Sadler; his brother, Perry Maji, all of Omaha; his son, Tyler Maji of Charter Oak, Iowa; his niece, Angela Maji; nephew, Joseph Sadler, all of Omaha; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Maji; and his nephew, Philip Sadler.
