ANTHON, Iowa — Frederick "Fritz" Burow Jr., 69, of Anthon, died Wednesday, March 20, 1991, at his home in Anthon.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church in Anthon, with the Rev. Joe-Dee DowlingSoka officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, with military graveside rites by the American Legion McNiff Post 389 of Anthon. .Walter-Armstrong Funeral Home in Anthon is handling arrangements. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
Mr. Burow was born Aug. 17, 1921, at Anthon, son of Frederick Sr.and Cecelia (Bonnes) Burow. He graduated from Anthon High School in 1940. He served in the Army Air Force during World War II. He married Edna Fay Carrington Aug. 1, 1945, in Sioux City. He worked as a carpenter with his father, and for Lehman Building Supply in Sioux
City. He was Utility Superintendent for Anthon for 12 -years, retiring in 1979. He sharpened saws and was a woodworker.He was a member of the United Methodist Church, and of the Disabled American Veterans.
Survivors include his wife; a son and daughter-in-law, Fritz III and Beth of Sioux City; two daughters and sons-in-law, Rhonda and Ron Steinhoff. and Jaclyn and Keith Wright, all of Anthon; a brother, George, of Anthon; and six grandchildren, Trisha and Todd Burow, Brandon, Tawnia and Whitney Steinhoff and Skylar Wright.
He was preceded in death by a brother, LeRoy, and sister, Iva Mac.
