Jarvis Campbell, 92, of Ottumwa, Iowa, formerly of Sioux City, died Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2000, at his residence.

Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, at Solid Rock Church of God in Centerville, Iowa, with the Rev. David Ratchford officiating. Addition-all services will be held Sept. 8, at United Presbyterian Church in Canon City, Colo. Burial will be in Canon City. Arrangements are under the direction of Luscan Funeral Home in Unionville, Mo.

Mr. Campbell was born Aug. 6, 1908, in Moulton, Iowa, the son of John C. and Bessie (Gale) Campbell. He moved with his family to Centerville as a child. They later moved to Sioux City. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He married Verna Mattson Jan. 1, 1930. She preceded him in death. He later married Eloise Corey Jan. 19, 1998, in Las Vegas.

He was employed as a court reporter for the State of Iowa 3rd Judicial District in Sioux City until his retirement. He then moved to Canon City. He returned to Centerville in 1998 and in 1999, he moved to Ottumwa.

He was a member of United Presbyterian Church in Canon City, and enjoyed gardening and the outdoors.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Alan of Graham, Wash., and Colin and his wife, Carol of Sioux City; a daughter and her husband, Karen and Bill Campbell of Long Beach, Calif.; a stepson and his wife, Bill and Faye McAfee of Moulton; three stepdaughters and their husbands, Janet and Robert Jones of Ottumwa, Ruth and Ed Evans of Camanche, Iowa, and Gwen "Candy" and Bob Sacco of Cincinnati, Iowa; three grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; 23 great-step-grandchildren; and two great-great-step-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Bolyard of Laguna Hills, Calif. and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Keith and Gale Campbell.

Memorials may be directed to Solid Rock Church of God in Centerville.
