Elizabeth Frances "Libby" Edwards 1919-1997

CORRECTIONVILLE, Iowa — Elizabeth Frances "Libby" Edwards, 77, of Correctionville died Tuesday, April 29, 1997, at her residence.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Grace United Methodist Church in Correctionville, with the Rev. Dee Ann Klapp officiating. Burial will be in Cushing Cemetery at Cushing, Iowa. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. today, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at the Barker Funeral Home in Correctionville.

Mrs. Edwards was born Oct. 28, 1919, in Pierson, Iowa, the daughter of Carl Claude and Kittie Clover (Lake) Lyman. She moved to Correctionville with her family as a child. She graduated from Correctionville Public School in 1938, where she was active in band.

She married Leslie Edwards on March 3, 1939, in Le Mars, Iowa. The couple farmed in the Cushing, Pierson and Correctionville areas until 1978, when they retired from the L.J. Edwards farm after living there for 33 years.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. She enjoyed making quilts and embroidery.

Survivors include her husband; a son and his wife, Larry and Marica of Marion, Iowa; two daughters and their husbands, Audrey and Norm Cross of Denver, Colo. and Janalee and Richard Williams of Holstein, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Chris and Molly Edwards, Leslie and LeChelle Lynott, Alan, Ronn and Trisha Williams; four sisters, Julia Cawelti, Nellie Sorg, Marjorie Harvey all of Des Moines, and Jean and her husband Ray Bruner of Dewey, Ariz.; and an aunt.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Jack and Paul in infancy; and a sister, Ruth Fanselow.
