4 January 2013SIOUX CITY | Lois Schroeder-Hightshoe, 89, of Denver, Colo., formerly of Sioux City, went to be with The Lord Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012 in Denver.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. today at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be the hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Condolences may be made online at meyerbroschapels.com.
Lois was born Sept. 21, 1923, to Elvy and Judy Masteller in Sac County at the Masteller family farm. Lois married Don Schroeder on Aug. 21, 1942. They lived in Sioux City and had five children. Don died in 1961. Lois then married Howard Hightshoe in 1968. They lived in Wall Lake, Iowa where Lois had a beauty shop for several years.
Lois loved to be surrounded by family and friends. Her house was the house to be at on Sunday morning for breakfast. Lois and Howard moved to Denver in 1982. They also had a summer home in Wickenberg Arizona and lived between the two until Howard's death in 1993. Lois then met Darryl Brantley in 1996. They lived in the Denver area until her death.
Lois is survived by her children, Mike (Judy) Schroeder of Pierre, S.D., Rick (Teresa) Schroeder of Sioux City, Denny (Gae) Schroeder of Wall Lake, Cindy (Kevin) Fullmer of Thornton, Colo., and Donnette (Tom) Orness of Highland Ranch, Colo. Lois had 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Lois was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and three sisters.
