SIOUX CITY | James W. "Jim” Fueston, 72, of Sioux City passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, at a local care facility.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Waterbury Funeral Service, with the Rev. Jesse Hailey, pastor of Elk Point Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be held at a later date. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Online condolences for the family may be made at www.waterburyfuneralserviceinc.com.

James was born on July 28, 1940, in Gayville, S.D., the son of William H. and Thelma L. (Cayce) Fueston.

Jim lived most of his life in the Sioux City area. He enjoyed bowling and was an avid fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers. He retired from John Morrell and Company following a back injury.

He is survived by his special friend Sandy Dunbar of Sioux City; his five children, Lorie Coffin and Lisa Brown of Omaha, Neb., Jim Jr. and Lonnie of Washington state and Justin of Minnesota; two sisters, Betty Schriever of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Jean Hoffman of Elk Point, S.D.; a very special nephew, Steve Davis of Sioux City; special friend, Christina Thompson; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, Le Ann, and two sisters, Shirley Allen and Phyllis Davis.
