Mrs. Eileen Uhl, a resident of Burlingame, CA, from 1953 to 2006 entered into rest on February 18,2010. She was 90 years old. She had resided in Hollister, CA, close to her daughter, Janet Bernhardt.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2010, at 3:00 p.m. at Danbury Catholic Cemerery with Rev. Terry Roder officiating.

Armstrong Funeral Home of Danbury and Mapleton is in charge of the arrangements.

Eileen was born in Mapleton, IA. She was raised and attended school there. She was a loving wife to Rex Uhl, whom she married on November 15, 1938. The couple moved to Baltimore, MD, where she and Rex worked in miiitary aircraft production plants during World War II. Eileen returned to lowa when Rex enlisted in the army. When he returned from the Army, they moved to Omaha, NE, and after a few years moved to Burlingame, CA, in 1953 with their family.

She was the caring mother of Janet Bernhardt of Hollister, CA, and Michael Uhl of Daly City, CA; and loving mother-inlaw to her children's spouses, Jerry Bernhardt and Kathy Uhl. She was the devoted grandmother of Leanne Bernstein and Scott Bernhardt andtheir spouses, Scott Bernstein and Jessica Bernhardt; and deeply loved and her great grandchildren Jacob and Macie Bernhardt.

She was preceded in death by her husband Rex Uhl who passed away on September 19, 2006. They had been married for 68 years. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Cecil and Bill Burke; sister, Catherine Opat Sultivan; and her parents Mike and Calista Burke.
