BATTLE CREEK, Iowa- Vincent John "Bud" Meier, 82, of Battle Creek died Sunday, July 28,1996, at his home.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred. Heart Catholic Church in Ida Grove, With the Rev. Edmund Tiedeman officiating. Burial. Will be in St. Mary's Catholie Cemetery at Danbury. Visitation be after 2 p.m. today with a parish vigil service at 7 p.m. at Christensen-Ciha Funeral Home of Battle Creek.

Mr. Meier was born July 19, 1914, near Danbury, the son of Bernard and Julia (Rosauer) Meier. He attended St. Mary's School in Danbury.

On April 6, 1942 he married Loretta Nielsen in Danbury. He was a lifetime farmer in the Battle Creek area.

Mr. Meier was a member of Sacred. Heart Catholic Church in Ida Grove.

Survivors include his wife; three sons and their wives, Richard and Barbara of Battle Creek, Robert and Glenrose of Council Bluffs, and Ronald and Roxanne of Carroll; a daughter, Margery Meier of Sioux City; seven grandchildren, Sherri Jepson, Shelli, Michael, Gina, Bobby, Mistaya and Abby; a great-grandson; a sister, Beatrice Richardson of Burlington; two brothers, Ed of Mapleton and Albert and his wife, Vera of Pensacola, Fla., and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Agnes.
