Cynthia Yvonne (Roberts) Thomas, 61, of Sioux City passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 17, 2012, in Le Mars, Iowa.

A celebration of life service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, at Good News Baptist Church, with the Rev. John Woodford officiating.

Cynthia was born in East Orange, N.J., to John and Frankie Roberts on Jan. 4, 1951. She attended Central High School in Sioux City. She worked as a meat processor at Swift and Company.

She enjoyed spending time with family, singing in church, shopping and crafting with her grandchildren.

Cynthia is survived by husband, Terry Lee Thomas; daughter and son-in-law, Doresa and Ronny Alles of Sioux City; daughter, Debra Ginder of El Cajon, Calif.; son and daughter-in-law, David and Koi Ginder of Hutchinson, Kan.; sisters, Debra Roberts-Kunu and Gloria Tillman, both of San Diego, Edwinna Roberts and Sharon Smith, both of Newark, N.J.; brothers, Eddie and Johnny Roberts of Newark; 11 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Frankie Roberts; and a sister, Gunnery Sgt. Linda J. (Roberts) Corrington of Murrieta, Calif.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Jessie and Nancy Dupree of Sioux City; Good News Baptist Church; and Meyer Brothers Funeral home.
