Yvonne F. Moore, 86, of Sioux City passed away Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, at a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness.

A celebration Yvonne’s life will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Yvonne’s residence. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Yvonne was born on July 1, 1926, in Sioux City, the daughter of Walter and Grace (Collingwood) Petersen. Yvonne grew up in Sioux City and attended Sioux City schools.

She married Kenneth J. Moore on Sept. 30, 1945, in Sioux City. He died on April 23, 2012, in Sioux City. Yvonne and Kenneth lived in California for many years and Yvonne worked for Honeywell for more than 20 years. They returned to Sioux City about six years ago.

Yvonne loved to paint seaside photos and enjoyed playing Tush (a card game) with her family. She was a wonderful mother and put her life into her family.

Yvonne is survived by her two children, daughter, Bobbette Healy and son, Terry Moore, both of Sioux City; two brothers, Richard "Sonny" Petersen and his wife, Margie of Baton Rouge, La., and Darrell "Bub's" Petersen and his wife, Lavonne of Lexington, Neb.; a sister, Delores "Dolly" Kounas and her husband, George of Fort Collins, Colo.; several brothers and sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews; and five grandchildren, Debora Carlin, Tracey Halley, Jolynn Healy, Tom Moore and Kimberly Moore.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two grandsons, Richard Angulo and Jeffery Healy.
