16 December 2012Alex Kott of Sioux City passed away on Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at his residence.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Thomas Orthodox Church, with the Rev. Lucas Rice officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, with a Trisagion service at 7 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Al was born in Sioux City to Daniel and Agnes (Budcabich) Kott. After graduating from high school, he earned his law degree from Columbia University. Al worked most of his life as a livestock buyer.
He loved watching cows, doing finances and numbers, feeding his chickens, taking care of his dog, Buddy, and he always loved to sit down for a good meal.
Al is survived by his two sisters, Alice Sailors of Sioux City, and Helen Keller of Allentown, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.
