Carol Ann Schlumbaum, 67, of Sioux City passed away Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Assembly of God Church in Sioux City, with the Rev. Al Weiss officiating. A luncheon will immediately follow the funeral service. Graveside services will be held 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Holstein Cemetery at Holstein, Iowa. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the church. Waterbury Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements. Carol was born in Varina, Iowa, on Dec. 18, 1944, the daughter of Van Dewey and Marie (Jacobs) Holman. She and her family moved to Sioux City when Carol was 12 years of age. She attended and graduated from Sioux City Community Schools.

She was united in marriage with Harlan Schlumbaum on June 27, 1969, in Sioux City. Harlan preceded her in death on May 19, 2011.

Carol worked as a wife, mother and being there for all of her family. She enjoyed vegetable gardening, traveling, fishing and camping with her family. She always enjoyed the family vacations to the Black Hills. She also enjoyed singing and dancing at the Senior Center, the Eagles Club, as well as attending Country Music Jams. Carol is also remembered by her family as being the Sioux City Queen of Rummage. Every Saturday Carol and some of her friends could be found at numerous locations seeking the best prize of the day.

Carol was a faithful member of First Assembly of God Church for more than 40 years, where she enjoyed sharing her faith with her many friends.

Carol will be missed by her family which includes her children, Bob and his wife, Jodi of Sioux City, James of Sioux City, Chuck of Virginia Beach, Fla., Steve and his wife, Jane of Fort Meyers, Fla., Daniel and his wife, Sue of Dell Rapids, S.D., Mike and his wife, Sue of Sioux City, and Patti Dupic and her husband, Kelley of Sioux City. She is also survived by several grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Chuck and Dick; and a sister, Alice.
