Todd Vollmer, 49, of Sioux City passed away Dec. 13, 2012, at his residence in Sioux City, following a 5 1/2 year battle with kidney cancer.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Larkin Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Craig Collison of Sacred Heart Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 11:30 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home, 2320 Outer Drive North.
Todd was born on Sept. 23, 1963 in Sioux City, to Lee and Juanita (Boucher) Vollmer. He grew up in Sioux City, attended Sioux City schools and graduated from North High School in 1981. He was employed with the First Edition, Missouri Valley Steel, St. Luke's Hospital and Besser International a/k/a Concrete Pipe.
Todd was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith.
Todd will be remembered for his love of motorcycles, raising his son, Jackson and being a well-liked, good-natured individual. He also loved playing the harmonica.
Survivors include his children, son, Colton Vollmer of Van Buren, Ark., daughter, Kelsi Vollmer of Van Buren, Ark., son, Jackson Vollmer of Sioux City; parents, Lee and Juanita Vollmer of Sioux City; three brothers, Tim Vollmer, Tom Vollmer and Terry Vollmer and fiancee, Linda Hoefer, all of Sioux City; along with several nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Thomas and Harriet Vollmer and Alcide and Myra Boucher.
