LAWTON, Iowa — Mark L. Howard, 58, of Elk Grove, Calif., formerly of Lawton, died Monday, April 17, 2000, at the University of California Davis Medical Center following a lengthy illness.

Memorial services were held Saturday, April 22, at his residence. Burial of the cremains will be at a later date in Banner Township Cemetery, Lawton.

Mr. Howard was born Sept. 19, 1941, in Sioux City. He graduated from Lawton High School in 1960. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1963 to 1971.

He married Tamara Williamson in 1971. The couple divorced in 1973. He later married Leslie Dee (Hansen) Potts in June 1974.

He was employed with General Telephone Directories before joining L & N Uniform Supply in 1976 where he became senior vice president. He was still employed with L & N Uniform Supply at the time of his death.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Jason of Medford, Ore.: a grandson, Joshua; a stepdaughter, Dina Potts of Fremont, Neb.; a stepson and his wife, Mark and. Melody Potts of Seattle; a stepgrandson, Malachi; his parents, Don and Mabel Grigg of Lawton; a brother Jack Howard of Edgewater, Colo.; and a half brother and his wife, Tony and Cathy Grigg of Sioux City.

He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil B. Howard.
