25 March 2000LAWTON,Iowa-- Corrie Burdette "CB" Pilcher, 91, of Lawton, died Monday, March 20, 2000, in Sioux City.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Community Presbyterian Church in Lawton with Lola Haskins officiating. Burial will be in Banner Township Cemetery. Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Pitcher was born Nov. 28. 1908, at Ida Grove, Iowa, the son of Frank and Nellie (Corrie) Pilcher. At the age of two he moved to Lawton with his parents. He graduated from Lawton High Schobi in 1926 and continued his education at Iowa State University receiving a bachelor's degree in animal husbandry in 1931.
He married Dorothea Brown on June 14, 1936, at Lincoln. They lived in Sioux City for eight years before moving hack to the family farm near Lawton. His died March 11, 1967.
He worked as a farm manager for John Hancock Mutal Life until 1944 when he returned to farming, retiring in 1978.
He belonged to the School board, FHA Committee; Extension Council and Siouxland Health Council.
Survivors include three daughters, Jane and her husband David Wirth of Midlund, Mich., Judith and her husband Kent Frank of Des Moines, and Pam Pilcher of Des Moines; and Florence Tool of West Des Moines; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Clifford Pilcher.
Memorials are preferred.
