Francis E. Eberly, 84, of Sioux City, formerly of Lawton, died Tuesday, May 28, 2002 at a Sioux City nursing home.
Services were at 2 p.m. Friday, May 31, 2002 at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel, with the Rev. Jim Wilson of First Baptist Church of Climbing Hill officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
Pallbearers were Chuck, Ron, Chad, and Nick Eberly, Wayne Jones and Cody Meyers.
Mr. Eberly was born March 21, 1918, in rural Lawton, the son of Charles Francis and Katherine (Nagl) Eberly. He attended and graduated from Lawton High School in 1936.
He Married Mae Wolf on November 7, 1953, in Elk Point, South Dakota. He was a life long farmer and was employed with Wilson Trailer for over 20 years.
He enjoyed reading, playing cards, his grandchildren, watching wrestling, going to the Clay County Fair and always prdviding for his family.
Survivors include two sons and their wives, Dennis and Debbie Eberly, and Dale and Vicki Eberly, all of Sioux City; a brother and his wife, Wayne and Annette Eberly of Lawton; 10 grandchildren, Chuck Eberly and his wife Carrie, Chad Eberly and his special friend, Sara Blum, Kristi Eberly and her special friend, Allen Davis, Ginny Eberly and her fiance, Dustin Hahn, and Nick, Stephanie, Jessica, Taylor, Nikki and Sami Eberly; two great-grandchildren, Courtney and Lars Eberly; two sisters-in-law, Bonnie and her husband, Kenneth Jones of Waterbury, Nebraska, and Mary Wolf of South Sioux City; and a brother-in-law, Bill Wolf of South Sioux City.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; a son, Edward Eberly; a grandson, D.J. Eberly; a brother, Donald Eberly; and a brother-in-law, Bob Wolf.
