MOVILLe, Iowa — Robert W. Speke, 80, of Moville died Wednesday, June 19,1996, at his home.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Moville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Orrin T. Potter of the church officiating. Following cremation, a burial service will be held in Arlington Township Cemetery for the family.

Visitation will be 2 to 9 p.m. today, with the family present 7 to 9 p.m., at the McCulloch Funeral Home in Moville.

Mr. Speke was born Nov. 17, 1915, in Wolfcreek Township, Woodbury County, Iowa, the son of William and Alice (Corfield) Speke. He attended Lincoln School in Moville Township and then Moville High School, graduating in 1934. Mr. Speke served in the United States Army Air Corps for three years during World War II as a propeller specialist. He married Mariam Bond Hay on July 1, 1944, in Charleston, S.C. Mr. Speke farmed and had resided on his farm since 1919.

Mr. Speke was a member of Moville United Methodist Church. He also belonged to Wink-Sparks American Legion Post 303 of Moville.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters and their husbands, Judy and Ray Timan: of Pomeroy, Iowa, Mary and Ron Ferdig of Omaha, Neb., and Margaret and Jerry Davison of Des Moines; eight grand¬children, Michael, Susan and Mark Ferdig, Dawn Larbalestier, Sara and Robert Timan, and Rachel and James Davison; a great-grandson; three sisters, Lillian and her husband Darrell Wilson of Lawton, Doris Weaver of Moville, and Beryl and her husband William Martinez of Denver, Colo.; several cousins in England; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Dale Weaver.
