CUSHING, Iowa — Howard B. Anfinson, 95, of Cushing died Sunday, Sept. 18, 1994, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at St. John Lutheran Church in Cushing with Pastor Douglas Opp and the Rev. John Battern, of United Methodist Church at Pierson officiating. Burial will be in the Cushing Cemetery under the direction of the Barker Funeral Home in Holstein.

Mr. Anfinson was born July 19, 1899, in Cushing, the son of Albert and Isabelle (Olson) Anfinson. He graduated from Cushing High School in 1918.

He married Goldie E. Coon June 12, 1922, in Correctionville. She died Aug. 20, 1968. He married Murle Larson Jan. 13, 1973, in Sloan. He owned and operated Anfinson Construction in Cushing. In 1934 he owned an automobile dealership in Correctionville. In 1943 he sold the dealership.

Mr. Anfinson was a member of the United Methodist Church of Cushing. He was a past member of the Farm and Town Club of Cushing and had served on the Woodbury County Board of Review for many years.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Raymond and his wife, Mina Belle Anfinson of Akron; a daughter, Dolores and her husband, Richard Monfort of San Diego, Calif.; a step-son, Thomas Larson of Canon City, Colo.; a step-daughter, Connie and her husband, Alfred Heinse of Arvada, Colo.; a brother, Louis and his wife, Helen Anfinson of Long Beach, Calif.; two sisters, Rena Mohr of Correctionville and Blanche and her husband, Erivan Madsen of Holstein; two step-brothers, Clarence and his wife, Ouida Patterson of Salix and Louis and his wife, Fern Patterson of Pinon Hills, Calif.; six grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Mark Anfinson; three brothers, Clarence, Fred and Clifford, and a step-brother, Roy Patterson.
