NORTH SIOUX CITY — Evelyn Lanctot, 88, of North Sioux City; died unexpectedly Wednesday, May 29, 1996 at her home.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sioux City with the Rev. James Bruch officiating. Graveside services will be at Danbury, Iowa, Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 to 5 p.m.. today at Berkemier Funeral Home and will resume at 6 p.m. at the church. A parish vigil service will be at 7 p.m. at the church.

Mrs Lanctot, the former Evelyn A. Earle, was born April 15, 1908, in Elk Point, S.D., the daughter of Frank and Pearl (Butcher) Earle. She moved to North Sioux City with her family in 1916.

She marrried Arnold Fitzpatrick Sept. 5, 1925, in Dakota City, Neb. They made their home in Sioux City and moved to Texas in 1925. He died June 22, 1929. She then returned to North Sioux City. She married Joseph Lanctot July 22, 1950, at Dakota City. He died in 1971. She was postmaster at North Sioux City for 30 years. She was an Avon representative for 30 years.

Mrs. Lanctot was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Senior Citizens at North Sioux City and the National League of Postmasters.

Survivors include a son, Keith Fitzpatrick of Mitchell, S.D.; grandchildren, Mike, Pat, Shaun, Tim, Kelly and Kerry; seven great-grand¬children; and a daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Fitzpatrick of Sioux City.

She was preceded in death by a son, Earl Fitzpatrick.
