SIOUX CITY - Arne 0. Feste, 82, of Sioux City died unexpectedly Sunday, June 19, 2011, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, with the Rev Merlin Schrad and Monsignor Roger Augustine concelebrating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 5 to 8 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Arne was born Feb. 10, 1929, in Sioux City, the son of Ole and Esther (Amundsen) Feste. He graduated from Sioux City Central High School in 1947 and from Morningside College.

He married Helen Ann Krage on Dec. 27, 1951, in Sioux City. They would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this year. He was employed at Hauffs's Sporting Goods, Fehrs- Tractor and Equipment and AT&T Yellow Pages. He was a Realtor for Gery Martin Reator state and Davenport and Associates before retiring in 2008.

He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

He enjoyed golfing, fishing at Lake Okoboji and playing cards and pool with family and friends. He was a proud supporter of Bishop Heelan Catholic Schools. He loved attending his children's and grandchildren's activities.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Ann Feste;six children Krage (Teresa) Feste of Sioux City, Jeff (Kathy) Feste of Byron, Ill., Liz (Mike) Rickert of Sioux City, Scott (Nancy) Feste of Naperville, Ill., Kathy (Kevin) Heaton of Sioux City and Dan (Lisa) Feste of Algonquin, Ill.; a daughter-in-law, Diane Feste of Lawton, Iowa; 23 grandchildren, David Feste, Josh Feste, Jenny (Mark) Petty, Krage Feste, John Feste, Beth (Adam) McCostlin, Jeff Feste,Jordan Feste, Amy (Mike) Thompson, Kari (Seth) Johnson, Megan (Eric) Schettler, Laura (Josh) McElroy, Tom Rickert, Christopher Rickert, Katie Feste, Lauren Feste, Stephanie Feste, Kristi Heaton, Kyle Heaton, Kasey Heaton, Hannah Feste, Michael Feste and Allyson Feste; great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Don Miller of Bothell, Wash., Sam (Joyce) Krage of Sioux City, Ron (Joan) Krage of Sioux City ,and Colonel (Jeanette) Krage of Sioux City; sisters-in-law, Marilyn (Bob) Higgins of Milford, Iowa, Barb (Tom) Nicknish of Iowa City, Iowa, and Mary (Chuck) Swanson of Clinton, Iowa; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son, Doug Feste; his parents, Ole and Esther Feste; a sister, Ardis Miller; a brother, Don Feste; a sister-in-law, Blanche Ward; and parents-in-law, Roy and Helen Krage.

Pallbearers will be Krage Feste, John Feste, David Feste, Josh Feste, Jeff Feste, Jordan Feste, Tom Rickert, Christopher Rickert, Kyle Heaton, Kasey Heaton and Michael Feste.
