SIOUX CITY | William Joseph Trice Jr., 55, of Sioux City passed away Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, at a local hospital.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Waterbury Funeral Service in Sergeant Bluff, with the Rev. Roger Madden of First United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home. Online condolences for the family may be made at www.waterburyfuneralserviceinc.com.

William was born in Sioux City, on April 2, 1957, the son of William J. and Louise F. (Norton) Trice. He attended Sioux City Public Schools.

He was united in marriage with Denise Piper in 1977. To this union a daughter, Jenny, was born. He later married Debra Updike in 1998. To this union a son, Talon, was born. William worked in construction for a few years, as well as driving a truck for a period of time. He was most recently employed as a technician for Farrell Heating and Air Conditioning until his health forced his early retirement three years ago.

He was a huge fan of NASCAR racing and enjoyed working with his friend, Tom, on race cars.

He is survived by his mother, Louise of Sioux City; daughter, Jenny Anderson and her husband, Joe of Mapleton, Iowa; a son, Talon of Sioux City; stepmother, Martha Trice of Tennessee; a sister, Sue Thill and her husband, Pete of Sioux City; half brothers, Bill Trice and wife, Claire and their children of Tennessee, and Kelly Trice and his children of Tennessee; half sisters, Kim Burt and her husband, James of Tennessee and their children; a nephew, Chris; and his four grandchildren, Jayce, Drew, Hailey, and David.

He was preceded in death by his father; and half sister, Wendy Trice.
