SIOUX CITY | Helen I. Johnson, 84, of Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of Sioux City, died Nov. 3, 2012, in Fort Myers after suffering from leukemia.

Helen was born May 6, 1928, on a farm near May City, Iowa, to William and Lillian Paling. The family moved to Lake Park, Iowa, and Helen graduated from Lake Park High School in 1947.She worked for Katz Drug Store in Sioux City. She then was employed with Northwestern Bell Telephone for 22 years, retiring in 1984.

Helen was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Business Women's Sorority, the Northwestern Bell Telephone Company Pioneers and was a Worthy Matron of Eastern Star, Abu Bekr Shrine in Sioux City.

Survivors include a sister, Dorothy Dodsley Dickman of Sioux City; a daughter, Pam Johnson Robinson of Fort Myers; and grandchildren, Michael Robinson, Travis, Gary Lee, Stacy and Jennifer Pratt.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Linda Pratt; and a brother, Robert.
