SIOUX CITY | Ida May Borschuk, 78, of Sioux City passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at a Sioux City Hospital.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Ralph Shorey officiating. Burial of her cremains will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be a fellowship with the family 4 to 6 p.m. today, followed by a time of sharing to celebrating her life at 6 p.m., at the funeral home. Ida May was born on May 9, 1934, in Sioux City, to John and Ida Mary Matilda (Gall) McGinty. She graduated from Leeds High School. Ida was married to Phillip Borschuk on June 1, 1956, in Sioux City at Calvary Lutheran Church. She worked in sales for Martins and Younkers. She was also a dedicated mother and care giver.

Ida enjoyed bowling, gardening, baking cookies, baby-sitting, and she always made sure to make time for her TV programs. Ida will be fondly remembered as a generous, giving and warm person, who was happiest when taking care of others. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her husband, Phillip Borschuk of Sioux City; three daughters, Gina Swanson (significant other, Jason Henjes) of McCook Lake, S.D., Lisa (Curt) Johme of Sioux City, and Jill (Chad) Coyle of Sioux City; eight grandchildren, Ryan Lieske, Sydney Swanson, Shannon, Ashley (significant other, Eric Bishop), Amber Johme, Connor, McKenzie and Jack Coyle; two great-grandchildren, Andre Thomas and Wyatt Bishop; a brother, Dick McGinty; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; nine siblings, Clarence Roepke, Ron Roepke, Art Roepke, Evelyn Warner, Mary Oostenberg, Jack McGinty, June McGinty, Bill McGinty and Bev Waechter.

Honorary pallbearers will be Damon Clayborne, Eric Bishop, Ashley Johme, Ryan Liesle, Sydney Swanson, Connor Coyle, McKenzie Coyle and Jack Coyle
