SIOUX CITY | Laura L. Huffman, 96, of Sioux City passed away Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at Regency Square Care Center in South Sioux City.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Burial will be in Omaha Valley Cemetery, rural Homer, Neb. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Laura was born on June 23, 1916 in Emerson, Neb., to Frank and Laura (Gigear) Thompson. She graduated from Winnebago High School. She worked for many years at Means Clean Towel Service.

Laura enjoyed crocheting, embroidery work, traveling and had a great love for spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a life member of the Siouxland Senior Center.

She is survived by her two daughters, Barbara (Ron) Lappi of Dallas, Ore., and Jenness (Jim) Pintar of Painesdale, Mich.; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Russell; four brothers; and four sisters.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Kym Hummel for her care giving these past years to Laura.
