SIOUX CITY | Blanche A. Corey, 94, of Sioux City passed away Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012, at a local care facility.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Thomas Orthodox Church, with the Rev. Lucas Rice officiating. Burial will be in St. Thomas Orthodox Cemetery. Visitation will be today, with a Trisagion service at 8 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel.

Blanche was born on Aug. 31, 1918, in Geddes, S.D., the daughter of Henry and Catherine (Nehius) Eilers.

She married Thomas T. Corey in Sioux City. The couple owned and operated the Corey Motel for 40 years. She was a life long Sioux City resident.

She was a member of St. Thomas Orthodox Church. She enjoyed playing cards.

Blanche is survived by a son, Larry Corey of Sioux City; four grandchildren, Tim, Jeff, T.J. and Julie; and a daughter-in-law, Barbara.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas; a son, Tom Corey Jr.; a grandson, Jim; a great-granddaughter, Jillian; and two sisters, Charlotte and Marie.
