ANTHON; Iowa — Eric John Nelson, 40 of Anthon died Monday, June 22,1998, of injuries suffered in a farm accident.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Anthon, with the Rev. David Hogan officiating. Burial will be in Mount St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today with a vigil wake service at 7 p.m. followed by a rosary said by the Knights of Columbus at the Armstrong Funeral Home in Anthon.

Mr. Nelson was born May 26, 1958 in Sioux City, the son of Roger and Marjorie (Boyle) Nelson. He was raised in the Anthon area and graduated from Anthon Oto High School in 1977. He attended Western Iowa Tech Community College for one year. In July 1979 he became employed with Anthon Farm Center.

He married Tammy Fundermann on Aug. 29, 1980, in Anthon.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church; and the Third Degree Knights of Columbus. He was involved with the Anthon Advancers 4-H Club.

Survivors include his wife, two children; Sam and Charlie both at home, his parents of Anthon; four brothers, Tim and his wife Pam of Meridan, Iowa, Tom and his wife Carla of Newcastle, Neb., Kirk of Lenexa, Kan. and Christopher and his wife Eileen of New Hampton, Conn.; four sister, Nancy and her husband Rev. Dennis Balley of Independence, Iowa, Lori and her husband Lowell Lienemann of Houston, Texas, Sara Nelson of Dingmall, Nova Scotia and Kate and her husband James Ganzales of Lenexa,Kan. and 15 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and a sister, Susan.

A memorial has been established in his name.
