ANTHON, Iowa — Crescentia M. Nelson, 93, of Anthon died Monday, June 8, 1998, at the Maple Heights Nursing Home in Mapleton, Iowa.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Anthon, with the Rev. David Hogan officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. today with a rosary at 4 p.m. said by the Catholic Daughters of America and a vigil wake service at 7 p.m. all at the Armstrong Funeral Home in Anthon.

Mrs. Nelson was born Dec. 20, 1904, in Hartington, Neb., the daughter of Henry R. and Catherina (Hoseing) Dendinger. She attended country school and Holy Trinity Catholic High School in Hartington.

She married Charles F. Nelson on June 9, 1925, in Sioux City. The couple lived in Hartington until 1944, when they moved to Danbury, Iowa. They moved to Anthon in 1961. He died Nov. 8, 1980.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Guild and the Catholic Daughters of America. She served as a 4-H leader and enjoyed sewing and crafts.

Survivors include a daughter, Anna Marie Hamman of Mapleton; two sons and their wives, C. Howard and Joyce of Spokane, Wash. and Roger and Marjorie of Anthon; two sisters, Marcella Mann of Paso Robles, Calif. and Sylvia Barnes of Portland, Ore.; 17 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Susan.
