ANTHON, Iowa — Harold Raymond "Moe" White, 67, of Anthon died Monday, June 5, 1995, at a nursing home in Sergeant Bluff after a long illness.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Anthon with the Rev. James Tigges officiating. Burial will be in Mount St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery with military honors by McNiff Post 389, American Legion of Anthon and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9124 of Oto. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with a vigil wake service at 7 p.m. at the Walter-Armstrong Funeral Home in Anthon.

Mr. White was born Aug. 15, 1927, in Anthon, the son of T. Lester and Dorothy (Weathers) White. He grew up in Anthon and graduated from Anthon High School in 1944, He joined the U.S. Merchant Marines and later served in the U.S. Navy.

He married Joan Fitzpatrick of Danbury Feb. 18, 1947, in Sioux City. A life long resident of Anthon, he worked for the Iowa State Highway Commission until retiring in 1986.

Mr. White was a member of St, Joseph Catholic Church, American Legion, and VFW.

Survivors include his wife, three daughters and their husbands, Coleen and Bill McKenna of Garretson, S.D., Marlene and Cecil McKenna of Barling, Ark., and.Patricia and Dan Deeds of Correctionville; a daughter-in-law, Sally White of Omaha; his mother, Dorothy Flemming of Anthon; two sisters, Evelyn Limbach of Anthon and Lorraine McClure of Sioux City; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father; a sister, Helen, and two sons, Paul White and John Raymond White.
