Edna Deann Bolender, 87, of Moville died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000, at Kingsley Nursing and Rehab Center in Kingsley, Iowa.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moville, with the Rev. Michael Kroona officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Township Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 8:30 p.m. today, with the family present 7 to 8 p.m., at Christy-Smith McCulloch Chapel in Moville.

Mrs. Bolender was born June 5, 1913, in Moville, the daughter of John Christopher and Ida Martha (Pfeiffer) Wink. She was confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She graduated from Moville High School in 1932. She was employed with the Moville grocery store.

She married Wayne S. Bolender on April 17, 1948, in Ida. Grove, Iowa. The couple farmed in the Moville area for many years. Her husband died Feb. 11, 1975.. She later moved into Moville. She entered Kingsley Nursing and Rehab in 1999.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Moville Garden Club and Moville Senior Center.

She enjoyed playing cards and gardening.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Joyce and Mark Eggers of Blue Springs, Mo.; two sons, David and his wife, Sara of Chewelah, Wash., and Stanley of Moville; seven grandchildren, David and Ryan Eggers, and Katy, Kristen, Kelsy, Austin and Andrea Bolender; and a great-grandchild.

She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry and Louis; and three sisters, Emma, Amanda and Leona.

Pallbearers will be David and Ryan Eggers, Austin Bolender and Steve Rippke.

Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
